What is WALKSAFE?
WALKSAFE stays true to our original mission, and our mission statement to provide free and confidential accompaniment for those who are walking at night. When we receive a call for a safe-walk, we send two of our volunteers to accompany our clients to their desired destination through the transportation means that work for them.
WALKSAFE is a volunteer SSMU service that provides free and confidential accompaniment for those who are walking at night.
We operate during the Fall and Winter academic terms at McGill University. We operate nightly, from 9:00 PM until 12:00 AM Sunday through Thursday, and on Friday & Saturday, we operate from 9:00 PM until 3:00 AM.
We do not operate during holidays, school breaks, or the summer term. We do operate during the exam periods, under special hours. Stay tuned to our Facebook Page for updates on this joint-effort with DriveSafe!
